Amy maintains an energetic studio of private piano, theory and composition students. She also teaches at the SPACE Conservatory and the Discovery Center in Chicago. She works with students of all ages and levels, balancing her youngest beginners?some of whom began their study at age 3 or 4?with many adults either returning to piano study or starting for the first time.

Amy has also taught Piano and Music Theory/Aural Skills, and Composition at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and the East Metro Music Academy. She is comfortable teaching individuals and groups, and has given workshops across the globe in piano performance and composition.

Amy?s special gift as a teacher is her ability to adapt to each student?s needs and preferences. She has experience working with special needs students. Students always enjoy their lessons and are guaranteed a solid musical education including not just how to play the piano, but a strong foundation in music theory, note reading, music history, composition, improvisation and performance skills.

Amy?s ultimate goal is to inspire in her students the same deep love of music that she has, and to pass on the enjoyment, skills, and dedication required to foster this love for a lifetime!
