Hello friends!
It's time for the 35th Spring edition of New Music at the Green Mill!
I've been in charge of the Spring version of New Music at the Green Mill for a while now, and it's my pleasure to bring you another concert of new music, new performers, AND a new album! The Wurtz-Berger Duo released our latest album back in March with physical copies, and now we are celebrating the worldwide digital release of Touching Rapture on all the major streaming platforms.
To celebrate, we will perform Laura Elise Schwendinger's Rapture from the album, and also have some food and treats on hand to stay in the Cinco de Mayo spirit and enjoy some cool music.
This year I'm welcoming back many familiar faces to the concert, as well as welcoming a few musicians new to this series.
BEN ZUCKER and DANIEL LEWIS play two vibraphones in Ben's own music.
ANNA NAJOOM, AIRAN WRIGHT and DAVID KELLER play music by Amos Gillespie and Pedro Iturralde
WILLIAM JASON RAYNOVICH plays music for cello and electronics by Jeff Morris.
MISSING PIECE (Dan Galat and Kelly Quesada) play music by Danny Clay and Myra Hinrichs
ARI SCOTT plays her own composition—and my own composition!
And of course the WURTZ-BERGER DUO will play Rapture, a work by New Music at the Green Mill founder George Flynn, and a world premiere piece by Trevor Patricia Watkin.
All this happens Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Green Mill, 4802 N. Broadway, in Chicago. $10 cover at the door. Don't miss it!
